Short Description
Chess pie is a classic Southern custard pie with a rich, buttery filling and a crisp, golden top—sweet, simple, and perfect served plain or with a dollop of whipped cream.

Ingredients
8 oz unsalted butter, melted
36 oz granulated sugar
8 Eggs
16 oz evaporated milk
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
1 oz all-purpose flour
2 pie crusts
Pinch of fresh nutmeg
Preparation
Mix the melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, flavourings, and flour together. Pour this mixture into the pie shells and lightly sprinkle nutmeg over each pie.
Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F for 10 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 300°F and bake for an additional 40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
